API Usage Explanation
How API calls are counted per feature so you can plan and manage your usage effectively.
Every time Proff Connect retrieves data from the Proff API, it consumes API calls from your quota. This page explains exactly how calls are counted per feature so you can plan and manage your usage effectively.
Creating a new Account
New Account Override / Company Search List Button
Searching and creating a new Account involves up to two API calls:
- Search by name: 1 call for the search query. Selecting a company from the results to preview it costs 1 additional call.
- Search by org number: 1 call — the result is returned directly.
Enrich Lead
Follows the same logic as creating a new Account:
- Search by name: 1 call for the search, then 1 additional call when selecting a company from the results.
- Search by org number: 1 call.
Sync Account
1 API call per sync.
Company Insight
Fetching Company Insight data directly from the Company Insight LWC costs 1 API call, regardless of how many data categories are retrieved.
License tab – checking API usage
Viewing your token usage and quota in the Authentication Setup tab costs 1 API call.
Bulk Create
Creating up to 500 companies via Bulk Create costs 1 API call — whether you create 1 or 500 records in one operation.
Note
Accounts created via Bulk Create contain less data than accounts created individually through the New Account or Sync Account flow.
Job Center
Mass Update 1 API call per Account being synchronized. Running a Mass Update on 500 Accounts consumes 500 API calls.
Real-Time Changes 1 API call per 1,000 companies that have changed in Proff — regardless of how many of those companies exist in your Salesforce org. The system retrieves all changes from Proff and filters them against your Salesforce data to identify which apply to your existing Accounts.
Checking your quota
You can view your current API usage and remaining quota directly in the Proff Connect app:
- Navigate to the Proff Connect app in Salesforce
- Open General Setup → License
- Your token usage, quota limit, and expiry date are displayed here
If you need a higher quota, contact Proff at api@proff.no.
